Founded by Dr David Joffe, The Breath by Breath Foundation provides essential and often life-saving medical equipment for the new high dependency unit at Royal North Shore Public Hospital, Sydney.
With a focus on respiratory equipment The Foundation also raises money to recruit specialist staff to the unit.
The long term vision of The Foundation is to raise funds for vital respiratory equipment for hospitals across Australia.

Greg Brown
Chairman
Greg Brown is the CEO of North Shore Private Hospital and Castlecrag Private Hospital, a position which he has had held since August 2004. As of late 2013 Greg is now also CEO of Hunters Hill Private Hospital. As from 2015 Greg added to his portfolio, the role of Operations Executive Manager Sydney Metropolitan Hospitals.
North Shore and Castlecrag Private Hospitals are located on the lower North Shore of Sydney, not far from the northern beaches, where Greg has resided for 16 years. Hunters Hill Private Hospital is located north-west, 10km from the centre of Sydney CBD.
Greg began his career in accounting, where exposure to hospital audits had developed an interest in health. His first involvement in the health sector was at Dubbo Base Hospital in June of 1975. Greg spent a number of years managing Radiology Practices as well as a group of GP Medical Centres, providing Greg with a very good insight into the importance of communication between the GP, the Specialist, the Private Hospital and the Pathology/Radiology providers.
Greg has held senior management roles for the past 34 years starting as the Deputy CEO at Gunnedah District Hospital progressing to the same role at Hastings District Hospital in Port Macquarie. Greg commenced his career in the Private sector as CEO of Warner's Bay Private Hospital in 1986 and for the next 10 years held similar positions at Christo Road, Mosman, St Margaret's Peninsula and Bankstown Private Hospitals before taking a slight career change when he was appointed the General Manager of the Radiology, Pathology and General Practice Division of AlphaHealthcare. After spending a number of years in this role, Greg was appointed to the role of General Manager Radiology Central Qld, ACT and Joint Ventures for MIA.
In late 2002 Greg was appointed the CEO of St George Private Hospital and then in August 2004 commenced in his current role as CEO North Shore Private Hospital.
Greg is a Director of the Kolling Foundation, the Sydney Neuro Oncology Group, the Lincoln Centre, the North Shore Heart Research Foundation and the Northern Cancer Institute.Wine Industry. |

Dominic May

Dominic May is a Commercial Manager at North Shore Private Hospital St Leonards and is a member of the hospital Executive Team. His primary responsibility is to oversee the commercial obligations at North Shore Private Hospital and to contribute to the efficient and professional performance of the hospital through his contribution as a member of the hospital Executive Team. He has attained a Master of Management through the Macquarie University Graduate School of Management - MGSM.

Nick Farr-Jones
Nick Farr-Jones
captained the team that brought home the Rugby Union World Cup in 1991, the 1992 Bledisloe Cup and convincingly defeated the Springboks in August 1992. He was Australia's most-capped scrum half and its most-capped captain. Always a sportsman, Nick Farr-Jones captained every school team in which he played. Academically he achieved high standards as well, going from Newington College to Sydney University, where he studied Law from 1980-1985, before joining the Sydney city law firm of Garland Hawthorn Brahe. Nick Farr-Jones' abilities always singled him out as a certainty for State and National selection. In Rugby Union circles, his record is outstanding. He first represented New South Wales and Australia in 1984, and captained 36 successive tests for the Australian team from 1988 to 1992. Nick Farr-Jones also received international honour, captaining the World XV playing New Zealand in 1992 for the NZ Rugby Union Centenary celebrations. Nick Farr-Jones is a true ambassador for Rugby Union. His effect on the game and influence in sporting circles beyond rugby was recognised in 1992 when he was awarded the AM. He retired from professional playing in 1993. Following a decade with the investment bank, Societe Generale, in 2010 Nick moved to Taurus Funds Management, one of Australia's first resources hedge funds. |

Alan Bloom
Alan Bloom
was born in South Africa and completed his education in England where he completed his training with the Institute Of Charted Accountants and worked in management consulting. After co-forming a property development company in the West End of London, Alan sold his shares and moved to Australia in 1987 to start a sales, marketing and distribution company, Havenhall Pty Ltd.
Working mostly in the Pharmacy channel, Alan has worked with, and continues to work with, major multi-national companies such as Nestlé, Sara Lee, Pigeon, Hartmann, Lansinoh Inc, 3M and with a number of local businesses
as well.
Alan is married with 2 teenage boys and is a rugby tragic. |

Charlotte McGrath
Charlotte McGrath has been an asthmatic all her life, Charlotte is passionate about raising awareness of respiratory illness and ensuring all patients have access to the life saving equipment required to manage their illness. A patient at Royal North Shore Hospital since childhood, Charlotte feels a debt of gratitude to a hospital which has saved her life – often.
Day to day Charlotte is a National Marketing and Communications Manager and a mother to Georgina. |
